The students at our Summer Camp often write short essays during their writing classes to reflect on their lives and the activities they do at camp. Here is one of them.

by Nathalie
Jīntiān wǒ qù Tiāntán.
Today we went to the Temple of Heaven.
Wǒ kànjiàn zhèxiē.
Here are what I saw.
Lǎorén zài Tiāntán wánr xiàngqí. Tāmen hěn kāixīn.
There were old folks playing Chinese chess at the Temple of Heaven. They looked happy.
Wǒmen zài qínián diàn. Wǒ juédé tā hěn dà, hěn piàoliang.
We went to a palace hall called Qiniandian, which I think was really big and beautiful.
Wǒmen zài huíyīn bì. Huíyīn bì tèbié zhuànglì dànshì tā méiyǒu hěnduō yánsè.
Then we went to Echo Wall. It looked magnificent even though it wasn’t colorful.
Wǒmen zài huán qiū. Zhè shì wáng nán jì niú, yáng hé zhū dì dìfāng.
We also went to Yuanqiu [a circular mound] where cows, goats, and pigs were slaughtered.
Wǒmen zài tiānxīn shí. Wǒmen chuānguò huán qiū dào tiānxīn shí.
Then we got to the Tianxin Stone by walking through Yuanqiu.
Thank you Nathalie for the article 🙂 We hope you enjoyed the trip to the Temple of Heaven.
