The Spring Festival or Chinese New Year is the biggest occasion in China. This year, the Chinese New Year falls on February 16th and we will be saying goodbye to Rooster Year and welcoming the Dog Year. As Chinese people prepare for the new year, there are customs and traditions that are followed by the masses. One such custom is the “annual dinner” held by companies for their employees.
To celebrate the new year, That’s Mandarin treated its teams to a feast in Beijing and Shanghai! Knowing how much our employees love Japanese cuisine, we chose a restaurant that served delicious sushi, sashimi, grilled skewers and many more. By the end of the night, everyone was stuffed and could barely stand up.
In between courses, we played some exciting games with prizes to be won! Some of the coveted prizes included an eye massager, a weighing scale, earphones, etc. One of the games required the players to work together to come up with the answer to a particular question. Another game required players to be agile and well-coordinated as they had to clap and count and move according to the theme. It was hilarious! And ultimately, the purpose of the games was to strengthen the bond among the employees and have fun together.
At the end of the night, everyone was entered into a lucky draw. The top 3 lucky ones walked away with the biggest prizes and the rest walked away with consolation prizes. Everyone won!
We are thankful for everything that our teams have done for That’s Mandarin and we wish everyone the best of luck in the year of the Dog. We are looking forward to the new year – a more exciting, more inspiring and overall a better year!
祝你新年快乐!恭喜发财!
Zhù nǐ xīnnián kuàilè! Gōngxǐ fācái!
Happy new year and have a prosperous year!
