Homestay Camp
Chinese Summer Camp Program
Homestay is a full immersion Chinese learning experience that features a stay with a local family.
Our host families are carefully selected to make sure the home environment is safe for our students.
Apart from accommodation, the rest of the program is similar to Full Camp: it also includes Chinese lessons, cultural activities, field trips, and weekend activities.
The program also includes airport transfer and meals.

HIGHLIGHTS OF HOMESTAY CAMP PROGRAM
Arrival & Meeting the Host Family
Homestay campers arrive on the weekend before the camp begins, and are greeted at the airport by the homestay family.
Opening Ceremony & Orientation
On the first official day of Camp, our campers meet the teachers and fellow campers during the Opening Ceremony. They will receive a warm welcome to China, get a chance to introduce themselves, and receive an essential Camp Kit.
Morning Field Trips
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, campers will have morning excursions to popular tourist sites in Beijing and complete missions and activities related to the locations.
Morning Cultural Activities
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, campers will participate in various cultural activities: Chinese Calligraphy, Making Lanterns, Making Shadow Puppets, Paining Beijing Opera Masks, Dumpling and Mooncake Cooking Workshops.
Learn more about Camp activities here.
Afternoon Chinese Classes
In the afternoon, it’s time to learn Chinese! Our classes use various methods to help campers speak Chinese from Day 1, and use the language to solve everyday tasks. Classes are grouped by level: Total Beginners, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced.
Saturday Field Trip
On the first Saturday, Full Camp students take a trip outside Beijing and visit one of the most iconic locations: the Great Wall! Campers get to climb on the ancient steps, ride a toboggan, and even leave their graffiti on the wall (where it is fully allowed to do so).
Graduation Ceremony
The second Friday at camp is the Graduation Ceremony. Campers will showcase their Chinese skills with public speaking, singing, reciting poems, or (even!) performing Chinese rap songs.
Flea Market
Every Friday at camp, campers get the chance to spend their Camp Kuai — bonus camp money they’ve “earned” during the week by speaking Chinese and completing activities – to buy memorable souvenirs from the flea market hosted by the teachers. They need to bargain in Chinese to get the best price!
